You should get started with a cheap guitar because its symbolic of your progression – you also may break your guitar a couple times. You want to start off with a simple acoustic – as you get better you may want to invest your money in a great guitar.

The better you get, the better your guitar gets, and people may start to notice how great you are at the guitar and ultimately ask you to play the guitar for specific events (if you are into that).

A final point that needs to be made is the power chord. The power chord is in a whole variety of music but it is closely associated with rock. These power chords are usually only two notes or more coordinated together – they are composed of a root.

Power chords is the use of the 5th interval doubled up. These are great ways to learn the guitar so that you can learn to play your favorite rock songs!
